RUPEE VS. DOLLAR
Demand of US currency continued to rise as rupee shed 0/15 paisa versus dollar on the local desk this week. The US currency set off new week's trading at Rs.82/75, continued to record gains and was changing hands at Rs.82/90 at close of markets on Friday. Thus, rupee ended the week on a negative note versus greenback in the kerb.
RUPEE VS. POUND STERLING
Significant downward trend was seen in the price of the cable as rupee made a recovery of Rs.3/61 in the kerb market. Pound Sterling commenced new week's trading at Rs.136/50, incurred major losses on the local desk and was trading at Rs.132/89 on Friday. Thus, rupee ended current week on positive note versus British pound.
RUPEE VS. EURO
Euro observed drops in its prices versus the local currency amid decline in euro's demand this week. The single currency opened new week's trading Rs. 118/00 on Monday, incurred losses on the desk and was changing hands at Rs. 117/23 at close of markets on Friday. Thus, rupee recovered 0/77 paisas versus Europe's shared currency.
RUPEE VS. YEN
Japanese Yen continued to show appreciation against the local currency in the kerb market this week as well. Yen set off trading at 0/8650on Monday, posted more gains and was trading at 0/8704 at close of markets. Thus, rupee ended the current week on a negative trend versus Japanese currency.
